Alpine skiing

The skiing areas around Lake Achensee are of moderate size and therefore ideally suited for families. The Hochalmlifte Christlum are located directly in Achenkirch and offer 27 kilometres of slopes at up to 1,800 metres above sea level. Modern snow-making facilities guarantee best snow conditions from December to April.

At the valley station, Sport Busslehner operates a ski rental and offers ski lessons for kids and adults.

Cross-country skiing

The Achensee region is one of the best-known cross-country skiing areas in Tyrol and is a true cross-country skiing paradise with more than 210 kilometres of pistes. With separate tracks for classic cross-country and skating, as well as gentle trails and challenging laps into the Karwendel valleys, there is something for every level. In all villages around Lake Achensee, some trails are groomed for barrier-free cross-country sledding. Use of the cross-country trails in Pertisau is free of charge with the AchenseeCard. Numerous cross-country ski schools offer individual or group lessons.

Back-country skiing

Surrounded by wonderful nature in complete tranquillity, discover Lake Achensee from a different perspective on a ski tour. The Rofan educational trail is the prefect start to back-country skiing, and a great place to learn about recognising and managing alpine hazards and how to use a probe and avalanche transceiver.
